Session 1 - Ill Met at the Inn of Last Hope

Session 1 - Ill Met at the Inn of Last Hope

The Inn of Last Hope (or is it Lost Hope?) is a desolate place which sits on a crossroad between the natural world and the Shadowfell. Those who are lost on a moonless night often find themselves visiting the inn during their wanderings. Tonight was no exception.

The first to arrive at the inn this rainy evening was the mysterious Calemdras. His elf-like features did little to disguise his dangerous demeanor. Ignoring they young barmaid Beatrice's exhortations to dry himself by the fire, Calemdras sat down at a table in a darkened corner of the room.

A young changeling girl named Harlys arrived shortly afterwards. Knowing the distrust average folk have for her race, she assumed the form of a buxom human woman. Leaving her owl familiar Ette outside to keep watch, Harlys entered the forbidding inn. Unlike Calemdras, she availed herself of the fire and the mead that Beatrice brought. The innkeeper Barnum offered his two lodgers some of his beef stew to help chase away the cold.

Almirith's Backstory (for Chad's game)

Almirith's parents were from different worlds. His father was Mindartis, an eladrin noble from the Willow Court in the Summer Kingdom. Mindartis was young and adventurous, so he was often sent on missions abroad by his mother, the Willow Queen.

One of his missions was to determine the identity of a poacher who had killed one of the Willow Queen’s favored white harts. Mindartis used his fey magic to locate the poacher, but the poacher was not what he was expecting. Rather than a foul goblin or tricky quickling, the poacher was a beautiful elf maiden.

Official Recap for the June 7th Session (Special World Wide Game Day Edition)

This session we ran the second installment of the 4th Edition D&D Preview module H1: Keep on the Shadowfell. This time we had the advantage of having the 4th Edition D&D Core Rulebooks present. The following players (and their characters) were in attendance:

Brian playing Paranox (Dragonborn Paladin)

Chad playing Beren Carnicesir (Half-Elven Cleric)

Tim playing Sohzen Son of Iroh (Tiefling Warlord)

Mike playing Totlar Bispan (Human Infernal Warlock)

The session began at the common room of the Wrafton Inn with the group eating their (mostly liquid) breakfast. Jane Cobb and Vicros Silvershaper were not present, as they had decided to escort their old friend and mentor Douven Staul back to his wife in town of Fallcrest. Also, their ally Asher was severely under the weather; having drank too much the night before. Being as this was the second such night he had over indulged since coming to Fallcrest, some members of the group were wondering if the mage might have a “problem”.

Official Game Recap for the May 24th session.

This session we ran the 4th Edition D&D Preview module H1: Keep on the Shadowfell. The following players (and their characters) were in attendance:

• Brian playing Paranox (Dragonborn Paladin)
• Tony playing Jane Cobb (Dwarven Fighter)
• Chad playing Beren Carnicesir (Half-Elven Cleric)
• Tim playing Sohzen Son of Iroh (Tiefling Warlord)
• John playing Vicros Silvershaper (Halfling Rogue)
• Todd playing Asher (Human Wizard)

For sake of time the session started with the assumption that the characters already knew each other and had been on a few minor adventures together. The group was traveling on the road from the town of Fallcrest to the town of Winterhaven. The group was hoping to find answers in the small town to two separate problems bedeviling the group.
