Session #16ish - Reality's a bitch

Unfortunately I have not kept up with my session updates.  There hasn't been one in too long a time.  Time to try and get it going again.

 

Game summary thus far:

Since the last summary, the Moonstars have gotten involved in quite an epic problem.  During exploration of the cave they found an avatar of Kord, attempting to be murdered by some group of apparent immortals.  They were luckily able to save his life.  Following that, the group has gone to two of the major cities on the continent, both Solaria and Mysticae.  They spent some time tracking, researching, and ultimately gathering the knoweldge of who is behind the attempted god slayings.  

 These same villains also began to setup further plans, with the group being right in the middle of it in Mysticae.  They created true chaos via a curse, with the Merchant of Death truly living up to his moniker.

 True chaos was created in the major cities and villages, with the mythals of at least Mysticae and Solaria beginning to crack.  A large scar in the sky also appeared at this time, clearing right across the moon Lunatari when it was full.  

 It was at this time the group decided to follow-up on another lead and check out the true Elemental of earth, and found the same problem was happening to an underground kingdom of dwarves and gnomes.  After dealing with the problem, the group found that most of the gnomes were slaughtering each other, Garl Glittergold was dead, and this same group was behind it all and finally was able to take one of them out in a high-pitched battle.

After some well deserved kind words and rewards, the group decided to use the opportunity of being so close to the plane of earth to actually visit it, and find out what this "starry rock" thing is once and for all.  Finding out that the planar touchstones that they have been collecting maybe potential foci to get into the planes themselves, the group decides to visit the plane of earth and find out what this "starry rock" thing is once and for all.

After arriving in the plane of earth, the group divined their way to where the starry rock was located. After fending off numerous shadowlings as well as an Eldritch Dragon, the group arrived at "The Hole in the World", which they knew was right on the way to their destination.

 That is an extremely brief summary of the game up until our last session.  

Session 16 - Reality's a bitch

- The session started with our intrepid adventurers on the plane of earth, waiting to venture into the Hole in the World to find the starry rock

- Almost immediately, the group was part of a re-ordering of reality.  They were whisked away to where they entered the plane of earth within the small dwarven kingdom.

-Immediately something was wrong, as Og did not come back with them

-The group investigated the matter, and found they were away for much longer than the day they thought.  A couple months had passed. 

-Information was gleaned that the various mythals had shattered and that new scars had shown up on the other 2 moons. The moons kept on their course, however the scars stayed.

-The group also found out that the portal the dwarves had to the earth plane had recently activated, and a group of rock creatures had come through and set up camp.

-Of course our brave adventurers went to investigate, and a battle ensued for control of the room and the portal (the games first 4e fight!).  The rock creatures were soon joined by fiery salamanders.  

-The creatures were handily defeated, though one salamander got away, back through the portal

-The group decided to investigate further, and go through the portal.  They sent Mahad ahead, to scout out the area.  He came back after finding a patrol of these elemental rock creatures

-Mahad then led the rest of the group to the patrol, who were stationed around a high point of a stone bridge over looking a hallway.  Thorongil, deciding that he was master of thunder and wind afterall, used his powers to great effect knocking the beasts off of their perch.  The group then handily defeated the rest.
